I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. — John 15:5

There was one occasion when I was completing some household projects, and it required me to do some minor electrical work. There was a light fixture that was giving us issues, and I needed to replace it. So I followed all the right steps in my mind. I turned off the power to the light, confirmed that it was turned off, and then started to take the old light down.

Everything was going great, and I started to connect the new light into place. I connected all the wires and put the light back into the proper spot. As I looked at the light, I felt like I had done a fantastic job and could not wait to see how it looked. I walked and turned the power back on to the light. When I flipped the switch, nothing happened.

Soon, I found myself pulling the light off the wall. I was checking through all the connections and realized that there was a wire that was not connected properly. While it looked connected, there was no actual connection there. As soon as I reconnected it, the light worked and shined brightly.

There are a lot of people across the world who have the appearance of being a Christian. If you were to simply look at the surface, everything looks great as far as their faith. But many lack a true connection to God in their life so that they can fulfill their purpose!

Just like a branch cannot grow unless connected to the vine, a Christian cannot bear fruit unless they are connected! There has to be a connection, not only through salvation but also a consistent relationship with God. How is your connection to God in your life? Are you connected with a strong relationship, in prayer, and in service?

Across the world, there are Christians who need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. Another Well Ministries is a non-profit ministry that relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
