This is the thing which I have spoken unto Pharaoh: What God is about to do he sheweth unto Pharaoh. — Genesis 41:28

There are many times that I wake up early in the morning and will start out my day. It’s one of the most magnificent things about living in the mountains. I love watching the sun break across the horizon, piercing the sky and the rocks and trees on the horizon. You can often tell what lies ahead on the horizon just at the beginning of the day.

That is not always the case, however. Sometimes, the sky looks clear in the morning, the sun is shining, yet the day ends with clouds and rain. On many occasions, I have started my day without taking a coat from home but need it before the day ends. Perhaps I didn’t take a rain jacket or umbrella, but I soon found myself in the middle of a downpour.

While we often want to trust what lies ahead of us by what we see, we cannot see infinitely into the future. The winds of life change, the storms come, and soon, what we thought was a great day turns into a nightmare. You can’t always see what’s ahead on the horizon.

Joseph explained to Pharaoh that God had a plan for what was going to happen. Things were looking good in Egypt right now. They had plenty, but on the horizon was a famine. There would be hard times, but they couldn’t see them right now.

There will be many times in our lives when things are going great, but we can’t see what’s on the horizon. Life happens, circumstances change, and soon, you will find yourself facing difficulty. The best way to face it is by being prepared with a strong relationship with God.

Are you prepared to face what is on the horizon? You may not see it now, but good times and bad lie ahead. Spend time with God, draw close to Him, and talk to Him. Prepare by strengthening your relationship with Him today.

Across the world, there are Christians who need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. Another Well Ministries is a non-profit ministry that relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
