Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. — 1 Thessalonians 5:21

Not long ago, I was getting dressed to go somewhere. I had just finished buttoning my shirt and was about to grab my jacket, and my wife stopped me. She was across the room and said she saw something wrong with my clothes. She walked across the room and picked off what seemed to be the tiniest of hairs.

I’m not quite sure how she saw it from across the room, but she did. In fact, I am not sure if I would have ever saw the hair on my clothes had she not pointed it out. But there it was, and she pulled it off. She was critiquing my clothes, making sure I looked the part before I went to the important meeting that I had to attend.

Just as my wife was scouring over my clothes that day, looking for any flaws, people do the same with the Bible. People spend countless hours attempting to disprove and find flaws in God and His word. As they do, they often come up with some crazy stories and ideas they try to tell others that may mislead them.

This is why it is essential that we know and study the word of God. As is written here, we need to hold fast to its words, studying them to prove true things and lies. We should be quick to speak out about the truth of the Bible, sharing its words and the truth about our God.

Until the final day, people are going to pick apart the Bible. They are going to try to use its words to disprove God. But there is not one single flaw in all its words. If you know them and hold them close, it is easy to prove what is true from what is a lie.

Across the world, there are Christians who need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. Another Well Ministries is a non-profit ministry that relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
