All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again. — Ecclesiastes 3:20

Recently, my family and I were driving down the road when we passed what seemed to be a long line of graveyards. It seemed there were acres and acres of tombstones that lined one side of the highway, with a church and another group of tombstones on the other. It was sobering to see so many tombstones.

As we continued to drive down the road, my mind kept going back to all of those markers. Each one is a memorial to the person whose body lay in the ground below. I did not know a single one of those people. Yet, each one had an impact on this world. For some, they were a father, a mother, a son, a daughter, or a friend. Perhaps some were well known, while few knew the others.

I couldn’t help but think of this verse in Ecclesiastes, where we are reminded that we all have the same end in this life. Our bodies are dust and will return to the dust. It doesn’t matter if we are rich or poor, famous, or if no one knows our name. In the end, apart from the Lord’s return, we will all find ourselves in the same fate.

The key is what we are doing with our time here. It does not matter that we have the most money, the nicest cars, or all the things this world has to offer. What truly matters in life is that we give our lives to Jesus Christ. Once we do that, then we should live our lives with purpose to make an impact on this world for God.

What are you doing with the time God has blessed you with? Are you living your life to make an impact and lead others to Jesus? We all have a choice. We can choose to live our lives seeking what this world deems as a success. Or we can choose to live our lives for God, making an impact on the world around us for Him.

Across the world, there are Christians who need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. Another Well Ministries is a non-profit ministry that relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
