And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. — Deuteronomy 6:5
Many years ago, I fell in love with my wife. I’ll never forget the first time that I met her. At first, I thought she was perhaps the most peculiar person I had ever met. But as we continued to talk, getting to know each other, I quickly learned more about who she really was.
She was a woman of faith. She was passionate about kids and Christmas decorations. In fact, she wasn’t so peculiar after all. She had quite the life story, which had shaped her into the woman she was. The more I learned about her, the more I fell in love with her. I remember how quickly I knew she was the woman I was to marry, and I remember saying the words to her, “I love you.”
Now, if the story ended there, how disappointing it would be? What if I felt that way, told her I loved her, but she didn’t say those words in return? Thankfully, that was not how the story ended. When I told her I loved her, she told me that she loved me too!
Throughout the Bible, we read about how God loves us. Page after page of the Bible shares how God loves us. He loved us before we were born. He loved us so much to send Jesus as the sacrifice for our sins. He loves us so much there is a place prepared for us to spend forever with Him!
But do we ever tell Him how much we love Him? Time and again, He proves His love for us. But do we take the time to say those three simple words to Him? Think about all the things God has done for you and all the love, mercy, and grace He has shown you.
The more I learn about Him, and the more I experience of Him, it makes me love Him even more. Today, take a moment to tell God you love Him. God would love to hear from you how much you love Him today.
Across the world, there are Christians who need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. As a non-profit ministry, Another Well Ministries relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
