He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. — 1 John 2:6

It often amazes me to watch as my son learns things. Many times, he learns those things through imitation. For example, he will often imitate me when we are out to dinner. He often plays the game where he copies everything I do, laughing the entire time. He thinks it is hilarious, but he copies me a lot more than he realizes.

In some instances, he will walk exactly how I will walk. I am known to put my hand across my chin when I am thinking about something, which I see him do as well. He often says that my favorite sports teams are his favorite sports teams. While he may imitate some of the things that I do and perhaps some good things I do, there are times I can see the opposite.

My desire is to live a life in front of him that would point him to Jesus in everything that I do. I want him to know that God is the absolute most important thing in life. It’s the same thing that I want others to see in my life when they look at me.

Chances are, if you are reading this, you feel the same way about your family and how you live your life in front of others. Thankfully, we have a great example that was set for us in Jesus. For those who are Christian, our desire should be to live our lives by the example that Jesus lived.

In other words, we should want to be more like Jesus. We should want to show the love that Jesus showed and share the compassion that he had for others. As we examine our lives today, are we living by the world’s standards? Or are we striving to be more like Jesus?

Across the world, there are Christians who need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. As a non-profit ministry, Another Well Ministries relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
