My soul is weary of my life; I will leave my complaint upon myself; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul. — Job 10:1
Have you ever faced a time in your life when it felt that everything was going wrong? From the time you woke up until you went to bed, it seemed like everything went horribly. Maybe something simple like your spilled coffee turned into an absolute disaster of a day. It happens sometimes.
In fact, sometimes, it is not as simple as some spilled coffee. Sometimes, there are events that completely derail us on our walk in life. Perhaps it’s a tragic event or something with our jobs. Other times, it may involve family or close friends. The truth is these days happen. Of all people to know something about having bad days, Job knew what a bad day was.
In a short period of time, his entire life was turned upside down. It led to Job making many statements, but one particular statement really catches my attention here. He said that he was weary of his life. He was disgusted at the situation he found himself in and simply could no longer deal with it.
Have you ever been there? Maybe you have caught yourself saying that you are tired of life. Perhaps you have found yourself with nothing good to say. You were left with nothing but complaints. We can certainly find ourselves in that position when we take our eyes and focus off God.
When we get our eyes on our situations and circumstances, it doesn’t allow us to focus on God as we should. It leads us to frustration and becoming weary with life. Instead, when the times get hard, we should increase our focus on God. We should strive to draw closer to Him in those moments.
If you find yourself being weary of life today, you don’t have to be. God wants to help you through whatever you are facing. Simply focus on Him and trust it all to Him. He will help you in your weariness and give you strength to overcome.
Across the world, there are Christians that need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. As a non-profit ministry, Another Well Ministries relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
