Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?  — 1 Corinthians 3:16

Several years ago, I recall the concept of “pay it forward” became very popular. There were often videos and stories shared on social media that someone would go to a fast-food restaurant and pay for the order of the person behind them. The idea was that you were blessing that person with a free meal when they didn’t expect it.

In many cases, paying it forward continued down the line. I remember in one instance, that the concept went from one car to the next for quite some time. The restaurant owners and workers were amazed at how the idea of paying it forward continued. They argued that it showed the kindness of humanity and how people still genuinely cared.

While there are many instances of kindness such as this, there are just as many instances of evil in our world. We often hear about significant evils. We read about major crimes that were committed. Our world is filled with wickedness. So much so that it needs Christians to share the love of God in any circumstance possible.

There are many times we forget that we are the light of God in this world. As Paul writes here, it’s as if we forget that the Holy Spirit dwells within us. In every word we say and in everything that we do, the Holy Spirit is there. But do we act in ways that help others see God through us?

It can be so easy to act like this world. But we are different. We are ambassadors, carrying the Holy Spirit in our hearts everywhere. We should desire that our lives allow the Holy Spirit to work in us so that others see God through us. It isn’t about catchy social trends. It’s about remembering who we really are and letting our light shine for God in this world.

Across the world, there are Christians that need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. As a non-profit ministry, Another Well Ministries relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
