Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ. — Titus 2:13
Over the past few weeks, it seems that I have heard a lot of discussions surrounding the end of time. One discussion I heard was talking about a book that someone recently read describing an apocalyptic-type event. Someone else shared a recent movie or television show that they were watching that involved an end-of-world type scenario. Then there was another conversation about how they felt that our world was teetering on the verge of complete collapse.
Each of these conversations was held with normal people, living normal lives, working normal jobs, who were concerned about the future. Not just the future, but their future specifically. They were concerned about their family, their friends, and how they would continue if something were to happen. But one statement was made that caught my attention when the person said, “What about the future?”
What an amazing question for our thought. What about the future? We can all sit back and speculate on world events, circumstances, and situations. But not a single one of us knows with certainty what the rest of this day, or even tomorrow, will hold.
What we do know is that there is coming a day when our Lord and Savior will return. Scripture tells us that one day He will appear once again. Not as a sacrifice, but as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. His return will set in motion a lot of things in this world.
So what about the future? If Jesus were to return today, are you ready? Do you know what your eternity will be? If not, today would be a great day to accept Jesus.
If you know that you are ready, are you sharing with others so they can be prepared? Are you sharing the story of a loving Savior who gave His life so that we might have eternal life? We will spend countless hours talking through the possible future scenarios of this world, but are we talking to others about the most important one of all?
Across the world, there are Christians that need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. As a non-profit ministry, Another Well Ministries relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
