My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me. — Daniel 6:22
Lions are very interesting animals. They are known to be cunning hunters, often sneaking up on their prey when they least expect it. Lions are also known to be greedy. It really doesn’t matter to them if they are hungry or not, they will often hunt just for the fun of it. While they can work alone, they often gang up on the prey so there is really no option for escape.
So if you think about it, that really makes the story of Daniel in the lion’s den even more interesting. By all accounts, Daniel should have never made it out of that den alive. The den was used to torture and kill all who were placed there. But instead, Daniel made it out of the lion’s den with God’s help.
There have been many days in this life where I have felt like I was in a lion’s den. It felt like everything in the world was against me. There were times when I felt like the world was ganging up on me and tearing at me. Have you ever been there?
There are situations and circumstances in life where those around us would say there’s no way out. They would believe that there is no way we could ever survive what we were going through. But they fail to take into account the ability of our God!
Satan can throw whatever lions he wants at us. When God shuts the lion’s mouths, there’s nothing the Devil can do about it. He can want us tortured and destroyed, but God has the ultimate say. Maybe you feel like you are facing a den of lions. Remember that God is on your side. He can handle the lions in this life and take care of you.
Across the world, there are Christians that need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. As a non-profit ministry, Another Well Ministries relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
