LORD, I cry unto thee: make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee. — Psalm 141:1

“Hurry hurry” were the words that I heard coming from the back seat. My son had just announced that he needed to go to the restroom and bad. He didn’t care where we stopped, he just needed to go and fast! If you are a parent, you can no doubt sympathize. When your kid tells you that they need to go now, there’s little time to wait.

Frantically, I searched the highway looking for a place to stop. In a few minutes, I had found a place and my son quickly jumped out of the car and started running off to the restroom. Thankfully the stop wasn’t far and we were able to make it before anything bad happened.

There are many times in life when we face situations and circumstances that we need God to intervene, and fast! David describes one of those situations here. He shares that he was crying out to God, but he said that he needed God to make haste, or hurry, to intervene in the situation.

Maybe you have been traveling down the road of life and things have been going well. Suddenly, something happens and you need God to intervene in a situation. Not in a day, week, or month. You need God to do something right now, as quickly as possible. Thankfully, you don’t have to search far for God!

Whatever the situation, God is no more than a prayer away. He is always listening, waiting to hear from His children. Never once has He forsaken you. He is simply waiting for you to call out to Him like a father listening for his children. If you need God in a hurry, tell Him! He is listening.

Across the world, there are Christians that need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior.
