As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.  — Romans 8:36

As I go about my life, I am often reminded of words that my dad said to me when I was younger. He would often say the words, “Remember who you are” as I left our home. He knew it was important to be a witness for Christ as I left my home, protecting my reputation as a Christian in the things I did each day.

What I quickly learned is that no matter how I live my life in front of others, many people in this world simply do not care. To some people, a Christian is someone that is of little importance. They don’t see any value in Christians, and they have no concern if Christians even exist.

It reminds me of the words in this verse. To this world, we are likened to sheep as for the slaughter. They have no use for us. To the world, there is little concern or remorse for how Christians are treated or if we even exist.  If that were the final words of the Bible, that would be extremely depressing.

Thankfully, that is not the final words of the Bible, or even the thought here in Romans. While the world may see us as worthless, we are more than conquerors! The world may see Christians as a lost cause, but we have victory over this world through Jesus Christ.

As you go about your day today, rejoice in the victory that we have over things of this world. We are not a lost cause as this world would claim. Instead, we are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ! We should rejoice in this victory, no matter what the world may throw at us.

Across the world, there are Christians that need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. As a non-profit ministry, Another Well Ministries relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
