And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. — Romans 8:28

I still remember the night very well. It was in the early hours of the morning on a country road, where a young lady had wrecked her car. When our ambulance arrived on the scene, I honestly did not think anyone would be alive inside. But I was wrong! I remember being amazed as I climbed into the car with her as the fire department worked feverishly to free her from the wreckage.

As I worked with her that night, I remember we were talking. The young lady was crying and said she didn’t understand what had happened.  I tried to give her comfort amid the chaos that was going on around her. I explained the noises and shared each step of what I was doing to care for her. Prayers were said for her as we continued to work and I remember hearing her say, “God please help me.”

As we spoke about her faith, I remember her saying she believed in God and that she just didn’t understand. It was at that moment I was reminded of this verse. A lot of people focus on the words “All things” in the verse, but at that moment, I was focused on “for good.”

There are countless aspects of chaos that will enter our lives. Many times we don’t understand the reasons why, but God does. He has a purpose and a plan for anything that may enter our lives. While it may be chaos to us, it is designed by God for good.

We may not see the good at the time it happens, but we can take comfort in the chaos. In those moments we are not in control, but God is in control. We must trust Him and what He is doing in our lives, knowing that in the end, it will be for our good.

Across the world, there are Christians that need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. As a non-profit ministry, Another Well Ministries relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
