Surviving the bad days

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. — Psalm 32:1

There are a lot of bad days in life. Sometimes it is days that are simply just bad days. For example, perhaps you are tired. Then, there are some really bad days. Days where we have personal experiences with some of the lowest points in life. Maybe a loved one passes away, sickness enters our life, or some other tragedy occurs. Those days are bad days.

Many times, those bad days leave us looking at life with difficult questions. We may say things like, “What’s the point?” Or maybe you even say those dreaded words, “Can it get any worse?” There are many times that it does get worse.

When we face those times in life, we find ourselves looking for some sort of happiness. We are desiring some sort of encouragement to help us make it through those bad days. In essence, we are simply working on surviving the bad days. But in God, there is a special key for those bad days.

While it can be difficult to see the “silver lining” in those moments, we should most certainly remember the words of David here in this Psalm. For those whose sins are forgiven, they are blessed. That’s not just a momentary blessing, but a lifelong blessing! We are blessed in the good times, in the bad times, or anywhere in between.

Not only are we forgiven, but our sin is completely covered. Our sin was completely blotted out, never to be remembered again. It doesn’t mean that the days here in this world will be easy. We will face difficulty, heartache, and tragedy. But we are reminded that even in the middle of the most difficult days in this life, we are blessed.

Whether you are having a good day or a bad day, think about the words of this Psalm. If you have accepted Jesus as Savior, having your sins completely blotted out, you are blessed! As bad as the days may be for us here, nothing compares to how we are blessed by God!

Across the world, there are Christians that need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. As a non-profit ministry, Another Well Ministries relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
