The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant. — Psalm 25:14

Each and every day, we all interact in conversations and relationships with those around us. For example, at school, work, or even the store, you may interact with people that you know. You perhaps have seen them before, maybe you even know their name. But chances are that you wouldn’t share your most deep dark secrets with them.

Generally, we hold those intimate conversations with our closest friends, family members, or our spouse. There are many things that my family will know about me that many others do not know. My wife knows details about me that no one else knows because of our close relationship. You get to know a lot more detail about someone when you are close to them.

The word secret used here in Psalm 25 is described in its original form as a secret counsel or an intimate conversation. It’s the idea that those who are talking share their hearts with each other in a close and intimate way. It’s a closeness that others may not get to experience. But it seems there’s a key to that closeness.

What David seems to imply is that those who have a fear of God have a much closer, more intimate relationship with Him. It’s a unique relationship, one where there is a deeper understanding and a stronger interaction. It isn’t just given though. It is something that takes effort.

How intimate is your relationship with God? This is not just about knowing God through salvation. This is about an intimate relationship, one where you talk to someone constantly and share the details that no one else may ever know. God desires to have this close relationship with all, but it takes effort on our side.

God has never been the limiting factor of a close, intimate relationship. The only thing that prevents such a close, intimate relationship is ourselves. Do you want a closer, more intimate relationship with God? He’s ready and simply waiting on you.

Across the world, there are Christians that need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. As a non-profit ministry, Another Well Ministries relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
