For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. — John 3:16

On many occasions, I have shared the story about the time we adopted our son. Several years ago, we traveled to China for almost three weeks. We had spent countless hours completing paperwork and requirements for the adoption. We had to complete training, and send documents to what seemed like a thousand places, all to get approval for us to travel and adopt our son.

Before our travel, we had seen nothing about him other than a picture. We were given a medical file to read about his background and his history. We had no guarantee that he would love us, like our home, or even want to be with us. But despite all that, we knew who he was and that he needed a family and home.

The three weeks in China were an absolute blur. From unique dining experiences, mental challenges, and near emotional breakdowns, we were finally back on US soil. A few weeks after returning home, I remember sitting with him in my lap and recalling all the challenges we faced. But in the end, it was worth it.

Nearly 2,000 years ago, Jesus made a decision to come to this earth and die for the sins of the world. He didn’t have the guarantee that all those who He died for would love Him. In fact, He was despised by those He died for. Yet, He knew I needed Him to atone for sin. Nothing else would do.

Jesus knew that those who accepted Him, including you, were worth it. He knew you were worth dying for. Satan would love nothing more than for you to believe that no one wants you. He wants you to believe that you are worthless, a bother, and unacceptable.

But that’s not what God says. He believed you were worth the ultimate sacrifice. Don’t let things in this world get you distracted, feeling like you are worthless. God says you were worth it, and no one else’s opinion matters! Rejoice today if you know Him as your Savior. If you don’t, today is a great day to accept Jesus!

Across the world, there are Christians that need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. As a non-profit ministry, Another Well Ministries relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
