And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee. — Psalm 39:7

There are many times I reflect back on my time working as a paramedic. On many occasions, I had the opportunity to work with the same people multiple times on an emergency call. There were many times these were not life-threatening events. Perhaps it was a diabetic who took their medicine and did not eat a good meal soon after. There were times we would see these patients a few times per year.

On one occasion, there was a patient who had a true life-threatening event, and I cared for them twice! Each time they were scared, and I remember them saying they felt as though hope was lost. I remember talking them through everything the first time, explaining what was happening and how I was going to help.

It was the second time that was interesting, however. The patient again was upset and scared, and I reminded them that I had taken care of them before. I shared that I would do my part to share what was happening and give them the best care possible. They were at a place where they felt hopeless. Even though they remembered what I had done for them before, they didn’t have much faith.

That’s certainly how we are with God on many occasions. Time and again, God has taken care of us through troubles and trials. Yet, it seems like we are so quick to forget that when we find ourselves in the middle of a new circumstance. It is not that God has changed, it is simply our faith.

Never once has God failed us or let us down. Time and again, He has delivered and been faithful. Maybe you can’t see through the circumstance to the other side, but don’t doubt God! Just because you can’t see doesn’t mean that He is not already working and moving.

Across the world, there are Christians that need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. As a non-profit ministry, Another Well Ministries relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
