And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. — 2 Corinthians 12:9
I often laugh at my son as he continues to learn and experience new things in life. We often take for granted things we have experienced throughout our lives. For him, he gets a lot of firsts. Not only just being from China, but he is also now able to hear thanks to his cochlear implants.
We often find ourselves laughing when he hears something for the first time, sees something new for the first time, or even tries a new food. Sometimes those noises are loud, and we will see him remove his cochlear transmitters. Other times, he will become infatuated with something, such as the first time he saw the mountains of western North Carolina up close.
No matter what the experience, I am always proud of him because he is willing to face anything in life. He is not scared to try new things, see new things, or experience new things. There are so many times that having new things come into our lives can be intimidating.
The reason he is fearless in the face of new things is that he knows one thing is certain. He knows that his mom and dad are there for him and protecting him. The moment any uncertainty comes to his mind, he quickly looks to us for reassurance and guidance.
As Christians, we are often so scared of the things we may face in life. We are scared of uncertainties, new experiences, or challenges. But why are we scared of these things? It is not because our God is not capable of overcoming anything we face, right?
Whatever life may put in our way, we can rest assured that if we look around, God is right there with us. He promised that His grace was sufficient and that He would never leave or forsake us. We have no reason to fear and can face the uncertainties of life with confidence. Not because of anything we have done, but because of the amazing God we serve!
Across the world, there are Christians that need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. As a non-profit ministry, Another Well Ministries relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
