There is something that is simply intriguing about a morning. For some, morning brings about the end of a long, treacherous night. Perhaps they have experienced pain and difficulty throughout the night, but morning brings about a new day that may put the experiences of that night behind them.
For others, it brings about the start of a day of unknowns. They never know what they may face as they start their day. Or there may be challenges they know lie ahead. Maybe it’s a dreaded event, appointment, or meeting. They look forward with dread as they face what is to come.
Not all mornings are bad. I love nothing more than enjoying a cup of coffee and watching the sun rise over the horizon. It reminds me of God’s amazing creation and how He controls all the things in this world. No matter what kind of situation you face in the morning, I’m so thankful that we serve a God who is the God of the mornings!
In the first phrase of this verse, David says that he wanted God to intervene purposefully in his life in the morning. It was that he needed to hear from God first thing. He wanted to experience the mercy and grace of God from the very start of his day. He needed
It does not matter what type of morning you may face; God is still God of the mornings. If you need mercy and grace, He has it. If you need comfort, He can provide it. Perhaps you just need to experience Him in a mighty way. He can deliver! Don’t worry or dread the morning. God is God of the mornings!
