The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea. — Psalm 93:4

On two occasions, I visited Niagra Falls. On both occasions, we were blessed to stay in a hotel that overlooked the falls on the Canadian side. Watching the water flow down the river and over the falls was impressive to watch from hundreds of feet above. I even enjoyed watching the light displays that were shown at night.

But nothing compares to standing directly beside the falls. You can walk within mere feet of the falls and look down and see the water going over the ledge. You hear the mighty roar of the water as it flows down. You can see the impressive power of the falls. I even enjoyed reading through their history and learning about the sheer force and power of those falls.

I’ve even witnessed rushing waters during major storms. We have been on large ships on the ocean, and I have witnessed the waves pound the side of that ship with intense force. Numerous ships and lives have been lost due to the force of the waters. Their power is quite impressive.

As powerful and impressive as those falls and the ocean waves are, there is something far more powerful. The Psalmist writes that the Lord is mightier than the noise of many waters. It doesn’t matter if you compare God to the oceans, the rivers, or even the falls, as I mentioned, none compare to Him! He is their creator, and He is greater than them all!

Today, maybe you feel like those waves are crashing around you. Perhaps you feel like you are about to go under. Remember, there is one who is mightier than anything life may bring. If our God is more mighty than the seas of this world, He can certainly calm the raging waters in your life. Call on Him and trust Him!
