In my life, I have been fortunate to see or meet several important people. I have seen the President, met several Senators, and visited with quite a few members of the House of Representatives. I have been fortunate to meet with important members of state governments from several states as well. They were not all of the same political background, but each played an important part of government.
In my career, I’ve also been fortunate to meet with several high executives from major corporations around the world. I have seen a few celebrities along the way in traveling, too. I don’t share these things to brag, but I have been blessed to be in meetings with these people and have an opportunity to interact with them. They are all important in their own way.
While they may have all been impressive to this world, we often lose sight amid the status of this world. People in these roles are often placed into high esteem, and we forget they are just like we are. They are sinners in need of a Savior.
It can be easy to get caught up in all the personalities of this world, but there’s only one we should be focused on. One day, Jesus will return in the clouds. Every eye shall see Him when He returns. But that return will certainly have a different feel than seeing a celebrity.
There are many people around us that do not want to live as if Jesus could return tomorrow, but He could. He is coming soon! Today, we should pray for those who have not accepted Him as Savior. We need to remind them that He could return at any time. It is important that we be ready.
