There are many people across the world who will say that there is no God. It was not so long ago that I received such a message from someone after writing a devotional talking about God’s ability. They argued that God did not exist, has never existed, and that everyone should simply move on from the idea of God.
But the scriptures teach us an entirely different story. We read all throughout scripture who God is. Thousands of years ago, Moses asked God who he should say sent him. God responded with one of the most powerful statements in all the scripture. I am.
The simple statement denotes that God has always existed. Before time began, God was there. When the world was spoken into existence, God was there. Before any of us were a thought in this world, God existed. He is a God that has no dependence on any other. He is all-sufficient and nothing can bring about His end.
Time and again God has proven Himself. All throughout scripture, God was there. Throughout history, we can see the work of God. Yet, there are still those that want to doubt that God exists. They doubt Him because they cannot see Him. Many choose not to believe because they do not like the idea of someone else being in control. Yet, long after they are gone from this life, God will still be God!
Does God really exist? He absolutely does! He always has and always will. We depend on Him for everything, while He depends on us for nothing. We owe our very existence to God. He owes us nothing. Yet, He still loves us, cares for us, and provided a way for us to be with Him forever. What an amazing God!
