But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. — 2 Timothy 3:13
If you are like me, it seems like nearly every day is filled with some type of bad news. In recent days, I’ve heard the news about senseless killings, violent crimes, and so much more. I even hear as those around me have these types of senseless events affect their personal lives. It seems as if everywhere you turn there is nothing but evil.
But that really shouldn’t surprise us. In the scriptures, that’s exactly what we are told would happen. In 2 Timothy 3:13, we read about how as the day of the Lord approaches, evil men will get worse and worse. It doesn’t specifically say a type of evil, but let’s be honest. Evil is evil. While no one knows the day or the hour, we cannot help but believe that the day of the Lord continues to draw closer.
Which is exciting for the Christian! Yes, we certainly have heartache over the sufferings of this life. Our hearts should go out to those who endure the evil of this world. But we can rejoice because the evils of this world will not last for long.
A day is coming when there will be no more sickness, sorrow, or heartache. All the things that we deal with in this world that may cause us distress or pain will be over! That day will be a welcome change for all who have endured things in this life.
A day is coming when evil will be eliminated once and for all. A day when we will be able to praise our Heavenly Father forever for all He has done for us. Yes, things can be tough in this life, but don’t lose sight of what’s to come. There is a much brighter day coming for us and I believe it won’t be long!
