How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. — Jude 1:18 – 19
Recently, I scrolled a local news site and many of the headlines were terrifying. There were stories about home invasions, a murder, theft, and so much more. Just the headlines alone were examples of the wickedness that exists in our world.
As Christians, we often talk about how the world is changing before us. There are many times that we talk about the actions of people around us and how it seems that wickedness is running rampant in our society. But it really shouldn’t surprise us that there are people who are doing these types of things.
Throughout scripture, we are given warning after warning about what to expect as time goes on. We are told that the wickedness of the world will get worse. We are told that people will chase their own lusts. Ungodly lusts of sin, separated from anything to do with God. Still, we want to believe that there are good people in the world who mean well and are striving to live for God.
Those people are Christians, who should be living a life that shows a clear example and difference. Sure, we are going to be mocked for living our lives for God. We are going to be ridiculed and those chasing their ungodly lusts are not going to understand. Yet, we are called to be different and live our lives for God.
The days we face may not get any easier, but we must remember there is a better day ahead. The wickedness will rage in this world, but one day it will end. No matter how difficult it may be, don’t give up hope! Keep on living for God and setting an example for those chasing their ungodly lusts. It is not time to give up now!
