And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the LORD, as ye have said. — Exodus 12:31

Across our world today, there’s one word that Christians have become accustomed to hearing. It seems that everywhere we turn, the world wants to tell us no. We have seen this first hand in our nation as we are told we should not practice our faith in public or in certain spaces.

We have been told no to praying in school. Others have said we should not be allowed to read scripture in some settings. Some have shared that they feel “offended” because we want to practice our faith publicly. There are efforts to restrict the sharing of the gospel in a lot of settings. It seems that we hear the word no a lot.

But we should not let that discourage us! There are countless examples where the world has said no, but God has said yes. One is here in the book of Exodus. Time and again Pharaoh said no to letting the Israelites go. Pharaoh tried with all his might, but God got Pharaoh’s attention and he let the people go.

God is not interested in the world’s answer to the situations in our life. The doctors may say there is no hope, yet God says there is hope found in Him! The world may want to keep us from expressing and practicing our faith, yet God continues to open doors.

Just because the world says no, it does not limit the capability of our God. Don’t lose faith because someone in this world tells you no. Remember that no matter the situation, God still can! He is still working today and can still intervene even when the world says no.
