And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. — Matthew 17:20

Just a few days ago, I was driving down the road and I came upon a bridge. I had never driven the road that I was traveling before. It was the first time I had ever seen the bridge that I was going to cross. I didn’t know what it was carrying me across, but the only way to continue my path was to cross the bridge.

I didn’t stop at the edge of the bridge and inspect it. In fact, I don’t even think I slowed my car down very much since it was straight and flat. I never questioned the capabilities of the bridge, how it was built, or what materials were used. I didn’t call the engineer to see if he believed it was still structurally sound.

The point is that I trusted the people who built the bridge. I had faith in their work and construction that it would easily support me and my car and allow me to cross safely to the other side. Even though I did not know what I was crossing over, I had blind faith that it would do what it should do.

So many times in life we find ourselves approaching unknown situations. We may not necessarily know what we are going to go through, but we don’t have a choice. We must go through the situation. In many of these times, we seem to doubt God. We worry and are concerned about the situation when we should simply trust Him.

When we face new circumstances in life, we must have faith in God. He reminded the people here that pure and simple faith could move mountains. If faith can move mountains, imagine what faith can do in our lives. God has everything under control and will see you across to the other side of your circumstance.
