I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. — 2 Samuel 22:4

It was a pretty big box that the man was trying to load into his vehicle. On the side of it, there was a sticker that said “team lift” indicating that anyone attempting to lift the box should have help. Unfortunately, the man was trying to do it on his own. Several people had walked by as the man looked around but remained silent.

Soon after, someone else walked by and looked at him and said, “can I help you?” Immediate relief was seen across the man’s face. He immediately responded yes and was appreciative of the help. The concerning thing was that many others who walked by would have probably helped him. Instead, he chose to continue to try and do it on his own.

That is often how we are in dealing with things in our life as well. We want to try to handle things on our own and we struggle. We try to hold it together, so that others will not see that we are struggling. All the while, we have help that is readily available to us in any situation that we may face.

It’s a wonderful thought to consider that many times we have friends and family that we can reach out to when we need help. I certainly have done that many times in my life as I faced things that were uncertain. I asked for their help, their prayers, and their guidance.

More than that, we have a God who loves us and cares for us. As David says in 2 Samuel, we can call on the Lord who is worthy to be praised. Why? Because He is more than willing to help us in any situation that we face! It’s so wonderful to know that help is only a prayer away.
