O Lord my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me. — Psalm 7:1
Trust is something that is very peculiar in our day. We are quick to trust some things, while we may question our trust in others. For example, we may drive over a bridge without any thought. On the opposite side, we may question someone’s intentions if we don’t know them very well.
I have seen images of collapsed and damaged bridges in my day, but when I need them to cross a river or a valley, I don’t question them. I have faith in the one who designed it and those who built it. A lot of times I never slow down and look at what the bridge is taking me over, I simply drive right across.
That’s the kind of trust and faith that we should have in God. When we have issues and difficulties in life, we need to be able to trust that He will take care of it all. After all, He designed the world and handles everything in our lives.
Yet, so many times when we find ourselves in the middle of trouble, as the psalmist writes here, we are too quick to lose faith in God. We start to look elsewhere for help and guidance. Instead, we should do exactly what the psalmist does here, but our faith in God!
Has God ever failed us? Maybe He hasn’t handled a situation or answered a specific prayer as we wanted, but God has never failed. He is always there and is always faithful. Rather than question Him, we should put all our trust in Him. Trust Him without question, because He will deliver.
