Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. — Romans 8:26
It seems that no matter how old you get, there’s something special about being able to pick up the phone and call someone. Many of those calls may be simple routine calls to see how a parent, loved one, or a close friend is doing. There’s something special about hearing the phone stop ringing and their voice answering on the other end.
It is not only special but for many people, it’s needed. They are separated by distance and they are simply unable to go see those people very easily. The ability to call that person eliminates the distance between you. We need that communication and connection with those that we are closest to.
Just like our relationship with our family and friends, we need the same in our relationship with God. He wants to hear from us and to hear about everything that is happening in our lives. He doesn’t expect us to leave out any detail!
Better yet, we don’t have to pick up a telephone to call God to talk. We can simply go to Him in prayer. We can use our spiritual telephone to reach out to our Heavenly Father and share our joy, pain, experiences, troubles, cares, etc. Never once has someone gone to God in prayer and received a busy signal. He always makes time for us!
Unfortunately, many times God is the last “call” that we make. We look for resources in countless other places, rather than going to the main resource that we have. How powerful a resource that we have in prayer that is neglected so many times. Just like you may need to call someone in this life, we need to call on God in prayer. He’s standing by waiting to hear from you today about all that is happening in your life.
