Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me. — Psalm 66:20

I have known some people before that seem to complain about a lot of things in their lives. Not that sharing the things that bother you is a problem, but it can be a little discouraging to be around someone that always shares the negative in their lives. If you are honest, you have most likely had those experiences yourself.

Sometimes, it can be us that find ourselves in challenging situations just looking for someone to listen. It can feel like people are dodging our calls, texts, e-mails, or even our visits.

While we can find ourselves discouraged, looking for someone to listen, sometimes we often overlook someone that is always there for us. One that has promised He would stay closer than anyone else.

Never once has God turned away from hearing us. No matter the situation, He always has open ears and is willing to listen to our hearts. As the psalmist says, not only has He heard our prayers, but He has also given us mercy. In so many of those situations, that mercy is exactly what we needed to get us through.

If you find yourself in one of those circumstances, remember that God hears and will listen to everything that is burdening your heart. If you are not, today is a great day to be thankful for the listening ear and mercy of God.
