We often find ourselves torn between difficult or challenging decisions. That is a regular part of life. We are presented with two options and many times we must make a choice, not fully understanding what the consequences or the end outcome may be.
I recently read a story that described similar events in our nation’s history. Patriot after patriot that was faced with the decision to support the idea of a free nation in America or allegiance to Great Britain. Many of them risked their lives and all they owned in the search for freedom.
It was a decision that they were unaware of the end outcome. They were never sure they would win the battle for independence, but it was something they felt was worth the risk. When they weighed the options, they decided that they would prefer to die fighting for freedom than to choose life without freedom.
Many of our decisions are not life and death options like these faced, but they are important nonetheless. Most importantly is who we are going to serve each and every day. We have two options: we can choose to serve God or we can choose to serve anything other than God. There is no other option.
God is not looking for people that are part-time Christians. He is looking for people that are willing to give everything that they have in following Him. Just like those who fought for the founding of the United States, God is looking for people that are willing to set aside anything and everything that they have in this world, to willingly live for Him.
He is looking for moms and dads, sons and daughters, and people in any nation across the face of this earth. He is looking for the old, the young, the middle-aged, and any other category you can think of. He is not looking for a specific mold of person, He is just looking for someone that is willing.
How willing are we to give up everything we have in service to God? Are we willing to stop being part-time Christians and fully give our lives to Him? He wants us more than just church day. He wants us every day.
