All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. — 2 Timothy 3:16
I absolutely love a good book. There is nothing I love more than to find some time alone where it is just me and a book. I can sit back and read for hours about history or in biographies. Our world is full of dozens of book stores and large online book stores because people love books.
You can find a book on nearly every subject as well. It does not matter what you want to read about, there is a book about it somewhere. What I have always been amazed by, though, are self-help books. People spend millions of dollars each year buying self-help books to try to make their lives better.
While they spend their time and money searching for help, the help that most people seek can be found in one single place. The Bible is filled with 66 books, 1,189 chapters, or 31,102 verses. Each of them have a purpose, just as 2 Timothy says. From cover to cover, the Bible is filled with amazing stories, help, guidance, and instruction.
With such an amazing book, why do we spend so much money looking for help in millions of other pages? Why do we spend countless hours searching for answers when we have answers for life right in front of us? There is something special about the Bible and perhaps it is time we start turning our attention to it once again.
