Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. — Isaiah 49:1

One of the hardest things for many people to find in life is their purpose. A lot of people spend their entire lives looking for purpose amid the chaos of the world. They look for it in work, in drugs, or in many other bad decisions. It’s something that we start encouraging as a society from a young age.

Before kids are ever ready to deal with the major decisions of life, many of them have already decided on a clear path for their future. They have decided on a college to attend, where they will live, how they will orchestrate their lives, and all the major events to follow. While we want them to be prepared, they are oftentimes missing one key event.

Many times, those decisions in life are made without ever consulting the one who gave us life in the beginning! So many make extravagant plans for life, but they have never consulted with the one that oversees their life. They give everything they have to the agenda and plan that they set forth. There’s nothing wrong with the commitment, but it can land you in a lifetime of searching for purpose.

Isaiah tells us here that we were given a purpose from the womb. God knew who we were and had a plan for our lives. In every aspect of life, we must consult with Him, the one who gave us life! Aligning our life with God’s plan for our life will give our lives purpose and meaning. He has a job for you, but are you doing it? Don’t waste your life looking for purpose. Instead, align with God and live with purpose!
