And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever. — Psalm 41:12

In life, we all face moments when we are the subject of the discussions of others. We often get our first experience with this during our youth, when other kids will talk about something we did or said. Those types of things never stop as we get older. In fact, they probably get much worse.

As we become adults, we often see the effects of these conversations. They happen at work, among our neighbors, and anywhere in between. As God says, He is the true and ultimate judge. Yet, we are judged in nearly every direction about everything that we do. Everyone has an opinion and is certainly not afraid to express it, especially on social media!

David has just finished talking about his experience with others in this Psalm, but then he transitions. In other words, David is doing some self-reflection amid the situation. Others are talking and acting all around him, but he realizes that the most important thing is his relationship with God. They would talk about David, scrutinizing him for every little detail, but he held his integrity for God.

No matter what others say about us, the most important thing that we can do is to live a life of integrity for God. Others will disagree with us. They may say we are missing the mark. The most important thing is the relationship we have with God.

Are you focused on what others say about you and to you? Those things can be hurtful and distract you from what God would have you to do. No matter what others say, focus on God! Focus on living a life of integrity for Him. Let others say what they want. Live a life of integrity for God!
