And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith. — Philippians 3:9
Years ago, I set out to meet someone at a local coffee shop that I had not been to before. We worked together, so I knew the person well. Walking into the coffee shop, I realized that finding them might be challenging. The shop was more crowded than I could have imagined.
He told me that he was sitting in a corner. I knew how he normally dressed and his body language, but I still couldn’t find him. Amid all the people that were around, he blended in. I placed my order, grabbed my coffee, and proceeded to call him to find out where he was. Just a few moments later, he stood up and looked at me so I could find him.
As busy as our lives are, we are often distracted by the people around us. We often forget that, as Christians, our lives are being watched. Every detail, every word, and every deed is being observed by those around us. Perhaps we don’t always see others, but they see us!
When others see you, what do they see? Are you found living for God in every moment? In the good times, the bad times, and perhaps even the ugly times of life, do others find you living by faith, dedicated and committed to God?
As Christians, we all know that we will never be perfect. But our desire and prayer should be that God would guide us and help us to be a living witness before others that points them to Christ. Our hope should be that when we are found, we are found living in Him and for Him! If someone finds you today, will you be found in Him?
