And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.  — Luke 19:3

We had waited in line for quite a while. It was something that my son really wanted to do and we had waited in a long line to get to this point. We were going to get a unique opportunity and the workers quickly rushed us into a room. It was standing room only and he was clutching my hand tightly.

Soon, the lights dimmed and some music started to play. In front of us was a screen and it started to show a picture that was meant to introduce you to what you were about to experience. Everyone immediately started to look up. Then I heard the most deflated words come out of my son’s mouth. “I can’t see.”

He was tugging on my arm and I quickly picked him up, realizing that he was unable to see because he was much smaller than all the others standing around him. We watched the video, and listened to the story, and began moving on into the next room.

For anyone with the ability to see, we value being able to see things. I have no doubt that Zaccheaus had heard the stories of Jesus, and he simply wanted to see Him. Little did he know that He was not only going to see Jesus, but he was going to experience Jesus in a way unlike anyone else there!

While we may not be able to physically put our eyes on Jesus in our day, we still have the ability to “see” God working in our lives. This is done through faith. But are we desiring to see God in our lives as Zaccheaus? Are we willing to go the extra steps?

Zaccheaus had a desire in his heart to see Jesus, and nothing was going to stop him. What is stopping you from seeing God work in your life? Do you doubt Him? Do you lack faith? Or are you simply not willing to go the extra steps?

If we truly desire to see God move in our lives, we must be serious about it. We must put aside doubt, and be willing to go all the way, no matter the distance. Even if it means climbing a tree.

Across the world, there are Christians who need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. As a non-profit ministry, Another Well Ministries relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
