Facing uncertainty

And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land. — 1 Kings 17:7

On several occasions, I have heard the stories of people who faced uncertainty. While working as a paramedic, I can recall many homeless patients sharing their situation with me and how they did not know where their next meal would come from. There were many patients who shared their heartache of having lost a loved one, or facing sickness that they didn’t know what the outcome might be.

Many of the circumstances may have been different, but they all had one thing in common. They felt like they were out of options. They had tried everything on their own, dealt with things the best that they knew how. Now, they were in this situation of uncertainty. They didn’t know how they would continue on.

Life brings about many situations where we may face uncertainty. It could be related to our health, nourishment, finances, or so many other things. It can be so easy to say the words, “I don’t know how I will make it” when times are difficult.

Many times, the brooks in our lives dry up and we simply don’t know what to do. The situations are never easy as they test our faith in God. But just because we don’t see how we can continue on, that does not mean that God does not have a purpose, plan, and path for us to proceed.

Maybe you feel like the brook in your life has dried up in uncertainty today. Don’t give up hope. God has a path forward for you. Satan would love nothing more than for you to give up. Hold to your faith and keep listening to God. In the middle of uncertainty, He will guide you and help you find strength once again.

Across the world, there are Christians that need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. As a non-profit ministry, Another Well Ministries relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
