This same Hezekiah also stopped the upper watercourse of Gihon, and brought it straight down to the west side of the city of David. And Hezekiah prospered in all his works. — 2 Chronicles 32:30

History is something that always amazes me. What we often hear about the past is what the person telling the story wants us to hear. There is an old saying that says something about history being written by the winners. There is a lot of truth in that statement.

But there’s a lot of history that people in this world would want us to forget. Specifically, they want us to forget that God is real, the Bible is real, and everything in the Bible is true. People have dedicated their lives to attempts to disprove the Bible and its stories. There are a lot of good excuses that they use.

Recently, I read a story about an archeological discovery in Israel by Professor Gershon Galil. He discovered a tablet many years ago and set out to translate it. The tablet was determined to be from the 8th Century BC. What was fascinating was that the name of King Hezekiah was on that tablet.

The tablet shared Hezekiah’s accomplishments, many of which are outlined here in 2 Chronicles. But more than that, it proved something. It proved that no matter how hard the world may try to prove God is not real and the Bible is not real, they can’t do it! The book is true cover to cover and our God is as real today as He ever has been.

When we take a look around our world today, there are a lot of things that may get us down. As Christians, we almost become used to the mockery and belittling of God’s word. But stories like this one should encourage us. Our God is real, His word is true, and there’s nothing anyone can do about it!

Across the world, there are Christians that need encouragement and strength that only God’s word can provide. We are focused on helping Christians find encouragement, develop stronger relationships with God, and help non-Christians come to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. As a non-profit ministry, Another Well Ministries relies on donations to continue our work. You can find out more about us and ways to support us here.
