The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he. John 4:25-26

The New Testament is filled with many records of events involving the life of Jesus and the early church. While we do not have a record of every detail, there are many records that are important. Some of those records that are always amazing are when someone meets Jesus.

In the scripture from John, Jesus sat by a well and a woman from Samaria came to draw water. Jesus shares with her the story about living water. In verse 25 she shares that there was one that was coming, a Messiah called Christ. Jesus looked at the woman and told her that he was the Messiah. After meeting Jesus, the woman left behind all the things she had planned to do that day, like drawing water, to go tell others about Jesus. Later in the scripture, we see that many came to meet Jesus because of this woman.

There are many examples of those who met Jesus. There was the story about those involved in the funeral procession in Luke 7. Or the two on the road to Emmaus in John 20. Or we can also talk about the thief who was being crucified with Christ and was told he would be in paradise with him that very day. Story after story is told about how people met Jesus and they were forever changed.

For the Christian, we can be thankful today for the change that Christ has brought into our lives. No more are we prisoners to sin, but we are set free through our relationship with Jesus Christ. All it took was to be introduced to Jesus.
